Recent Finds and Buys // Instagram Round-Up

Happy Friday! Sorry if this post is a cop out. ;-)
But I thought I would do a quick round up of recent finds and buys from my Instagram posts.

Juice Organics Brightening Cleanser via Ross $5.99
Yes to Tomatoes Gel Cleanser via Ross $6.99
Honestly, I'm not so sure what I think about these two products. I haven't noticed any big changes since using them. I do really want to try the Yes to Tomatoes Charcoal mask though...maybe I will have more success.

Sam & Libby Sandals via Target $5
I got such a steal on these sandals. They were on clearance plus an additional 20% off with Target Cartwheel. I have worn them a ton since I bought them, they are a fun pop of color.

NYX Matte Lip Cream in Istanbul $5.99
Essie Polish in Power Clutch $8.99
This was a small haul from Ulta not too long ago. I had a $3 off Essie Nail polish and $3.50 off $10 purchase for Ulta to use on this trip. I really wanted to try this lip cream because of a favorites post that Kacie at Elements of Ellis did. Except that I love the color on her more. It's pretty but much more pink on me than I wanted. The nail polish is such a pretty grey/green color that I saw on Kimberly over at Penny Pincher Fashion. And I wanted to try out this whole texture spray thing that I have been hearing about but honestly, I don't notice this doing much of anything. Have you tried it or do you have another brand to recommend?

Swingline Laminator via Amazon $14.99
One of the crafty supplies I have had on my wishlist. I grabbed this one on sale from Amazon thanks to an alert from Frugal Coupon Living.

Dymo Label Maker via Staples $9.99
Another crafty supply checked off my wishlist. And again, thanks to an alert from Frugal Coupon Living. Sadly, I still haven't used this yet and I've only laminated ONE thing. I better get on that...

barkTHINS: Dark Chocolate, Pumpkin Seed and Sea Salt
This are just...SO.GOOD. My mom introduced these to me and I am hooked.
You can pick them up at Target or Costco. Who has a Costco membership? Because I need these in gigantic bag form.

Coffee-Mate Natural Bliss Pumpkin Spice
I really love this coffee creamer brand. I don't use any other creamer. It doesn't have any added chemicals or junk, just milk, cream, sugar and natural flavor. I skip the sugar in my coffee when I use this. I'm not a huge "OMG it's pumpkin spice time" kind of girl but I was excited to see a new flavor of Natural Bliss.

If you aren't already, you can follow along with me over on Instagram @everylittlepenny.
I try to post my frugal finds and buys over there. I won't overload your feed because right now I'm only posting a few times a week, if I'm lucky. ;-)

7.24.15 // High Five for {the little things} Friday!

I swear, I'm normally shocked and happy that it's Friday already!
Here are my favorite little things from this past week!

1. I went searching for a dress and accessories for my brother's upcoming wedding. I ended up finding this necklace and earrings (shoes I already had) to go with a dress I decided to borrow from my mom. I love it! Just what I was looking for. The necklace and earrings are from J.C.Penney and came out to $20 total.

2. We hit up the community pool again on Sunday and it was so nice! The kids are continuing to do a great job learning to swim. And we just so happen to have another pol day planned for this Saturday with our family.

3. While doing some yard work, this little guy came around! I love when butterflies come around our house. This one decided to not even flutter away when I got close, so pretty!

4. I got a lot of decluttering done this past week. I still have more planned to do but I was happy to get rid of a TON of old makeup, kids clothes and lady 'under things' (how did I hoard so many of these ?!).

5.  My mother-in-law found these bows at Wal-Mart for $2.50 for 6. Such a great deal and they actually stay in my daughter's hair. She has really thin hair right now and a lot of clip in bows just slide right on out of her hair.

How was your week?
Have a great weekend!

7.17.15 // High Five for {the little things} Friday!

Oh man, this past week my sleep has been so messed up. Rather, my timing in getting up each morning has been messed up due to how I am falling asleep. For awhile there, I was turning off the T.V. and phone at around 9:30p and winding down with either a magazine or a book in order to fall asleep around 10:30p. Ideally, I need to be up at 6am and I'd like to feel like I've had enough sleep and am ready to get the day started. Whew, not sticking to that routine doesn't do me any good. So, I'm going to try and get back to that sleep schedule next week and see how I feel.
Now let's get to my favorite little things from this past week...

1. I finally got to take the kids to the pool for the first time this summer! We have a local community pool that opened not too long ago. It has a regular pool, a wading pool and a whirl pool. OMG, the kids had so much fun bouncing between the pools, I could barely keep up. My 4 year old has made so much improvement in his swimming (he loves the pool but has been so scared to do things without someone holding onto him) and my two year old just kept saying "I'm a dolphin, I'm a fish!". LOL It was great to see them really comfortable in the water.

2. I picked up these beautiful sunflowers at Aldi for $2.99 each. They just make me smile! Although they don't look like that now and I'm hoping it's because new blooms are coming and not because I killed them already.

3. I had to stop by CVS to pick up milk and diapers (staples of course!). I ended up having such great coupons that I also picked up contact lens solution and a peppermint patty for my little helper for under the price of the diapers alone! I had $6 in manufacturer coupons, $4 in CVS store coupons and a 30% off my entire purchase coupon from CVS which saved me an additional $7. If you shop CVS, make sure to sign up for their emails to receive coupons like the 30% your entire purchase, always scan your card at the CVS coupon center and check your receipt for additional coupons.

4. I made the easiest, delicious meal the other night. Crockpot salsa chicken. Maybe you have heard of this, maybe you haven't. But you literally throw some frozen chicken in a crockpot, cover it with a jar of salsa and cook on low for 5 hours. Shred. Put on a hard or soft tortilla shell (or on top of a bed of lettuce) and top with your favorite taco toppings. My kids ate multiple servings so I call that a win in my book.

5. A fun quote from my son last night that had me laughing... "Oh mom, my head hurts! Avery made my head hurt from her screaming so loud in Wal-Mart!" And that incident happened HOURS earlier in the day. I got a good chuckle...I thought it was a good try at blaming his sister for his head hurting.

How was your week? Any tips on a better sleep routine to help me get up early?!

5.29.15 // High Five for {the little things} Friday!

Happy Friday everyone! Hope everyone had a great week.
I'm kind of looking forward to doing a little grocery shopping tonight, is that strange?!
And then I don't have any solid plans for the rest of the weekend so we'll see how things play out.
Here are some of my favorite things from this past week.

1. Well, hello! First things first. How about that long holiday weekend?!  I actually ended up with a 4-day weekend. Our team reached a sales goal which earned us an additional day off. It was so nice but as always, went by way too fast.

2. My brother and his fiance are having a Great Gatsby/1920's themed wedding and my daughter is going to be the flower girl. My mother-in-law offered to make her a dress and while we were out looking for fabric and patterns we decided to take a quick look next door in Marshalls. And OMG we found the dress! Is this not perfect?! It was $15 and is by Max Studio.

3. The chair at Target that I have kept an eye on (because how could I not notice the beautiful print every time I walked by it in Target) was spotted on clearance this weekend! Originally $179 and I got it for $76. Whoop, whoop!

4. On Sunday we went to the downtown farmer's market to check out the surrounding re-sale shops. This led to some new purchases for our living room, which led to a trip to Ross, which led to this small living room update. You can check it out here if you missed it.

5. We had a relaxing Memorial Day over out my husband's parents house. The kids got to play in the blow-up pool, we ate ice cream and root beer floats and enjoyed a delicious BBQ dinner. Perfect!

How did this past week treat you?

Favorite {Must Have} Drugstore Beauty Products

Good morning! Hope you had a great weekend! The weather here was beautiful! Sunny with the perfect wind to keep you comfortable.
I previously shared my two must have splurge beauty products here. Actually...hair products.
I thought I'd now share my favorite drugstore must haves. These are products that I literally buy over and over again!

TRESemme Tres Two Extra Hold Hairspray: I've been using the hairspray since high school. I've tried other hair sprays here and there but I always come back to this one. It doesn't have the really nice smell like some of the more expensive hair sprays but it also doesn't smell bad. (It doesn't really have a smell to me,) It gives the perfect strong hold without making my hair feel gross. And it's under $5.

Jergens Natural Glow in Fair to Medium: Tanning products scare me. I'm afraid of making a mess, missing spots and having orange hands. This stuff right here is perfect. As long as I apply the lotion every night and let dry as instructed, I slowly get a nice little bit of color to my legs. It's fool proof. Perfect to use all year long.

Rimmel Stay Matte Translucent Powder:  I have really oily skin. So after applying any face makeup it's pretty much a must to top with a powder. I've been loving this translucent powder. It's under $5 and puts a nice matte finish to my face. I bought a retractable powder brush with intentions on buying a second powder to keep in my purse. Perfect for touch-ups. But as you can see by the empty container above, I'm completely out and they have been sold out of the translucent powder at every store I have been to lately.

Garnier BB Cream Daily Shine Control in Light to Medium: I'm so simplistic when it comes to face makeup. Just this Garnier BB cream and face powder. I've given some drugstore foundations a try but I'm always so worried about them leaving lines or feeling like I have too much makeup on. I've been happy with just tinted moisturizer (I used to use the one by Cover Girl for quite some time) but this BB Cream is a step up to me. It feels light, covers up red spots, evens out my skin and can be buildable if I need to.

Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat: I'm sure you've heard that this stuff is amazing. I never have the time to let my nails dry on their own. I typically paint my nails at night and then apply a top coat of Seche Vite. They are dry to the touch within a few minutes, give my nails a little shine and I don't wake up with marks on my nails from my sheets. The best!

What are your favorite budget beauty buys form the drugstore?
